Ternyata sudah hampir 4 tahun saya jadi mahasiswa dan insya Allah tinggal satu semester lagi, saya sudah harus menanggalkan status mahasiswa saya and have to face the working world! It's really good!
Yesterday, I attended thesis briefing in Kijang campus. Mr.Akun as the speaker told that to not fearfull in doing the thesis. We have to do it as a challenge and do it with fun. Do it with all of our best, because it's only once in a life time. Yes, I do agree with him. It motivates me in finishing my thesis. Ok, masalah dosen pembimbing, beberapa teman saya bilang kalau dosen pembimbing saya terlalu memaksakan kehendaknya dan harus menuruti semua kemauannya. Bahkan, salah satu dosen yang lain pernah bilang, sulit untuk meluluskan mahasiswa yang dibimbing oleh dosen pembimbing saya pada waktu sidang. Oh my God! is that true? But I dont really think about it, I trust in myself, and I do believe in my capability kalau saya bisa menyelesaikan thesis saya dengan cepat dan lulus sidang dengan nilai A. Yaa...saya harus yakin dan saya pasti bisa.!
Dan kebetulan, media dan theory yang saya pakai dalam thesis saya sama dengan disertasi yang sedang di kerjakan oleh dosen pembimbing saya. Insya Allah bisa memudahkan saya dalam mengerjakan thesis. amin...
As I mentioned on my previous post, my thesis is about Racism, entitled "THE REFLECTION OF RACISM TOWARD THE YOUNG HALF-CASTE ABORIGINES IN RABBIT-PROOF FENCE MOVIE BY PHILIP NOYCE WITH THE APPROACH OF POST-COLONIALISM THEORY".
Half-caste aborigine is a mixed descent children between the aboriginal woman and white people, and I use post-colonialism theory in analyzing this research. My mentor told me there're many experts in post-colonialism theory, but I shouldn't use all the experts' thought, just pick one of them. Deadline skripsi saya berakhir tanggal 30 juli 2011. Well, this is the movie which is going to be used as a media in my thesis. Rabbit-Proof Fence movie is an Australian drama film in 2002 based on the book Follow The Rabbit-Proof Fence written by Dorris Pilkington, Molly's daughter. The story begins in the isolated town of Jigalong where three children, Molly (14), Daisy (8), and cousin Gracie (10) live with their mother and grandmother. The town lies along the northern part of Australia's rabbit-proof fence, which runs for several thousand miles. Thousands of miles away, the "protector" of Western Australian Aborigines, Neville, signs an order to displace the three girls to his re-education camp. The children are referred to by Neville as "half-castes", having one white and one black parent. Neville's reasoning is that the Aboriginal peoples of Australia are a danger to themselves and must be bred out of existence. The children are forcibly taken from Jigalong and taken to the camp at Moore River to the south. Half-castes that are of a certain age live at the camps and are taught to become servants for the whites living in Australia. Knowing it, Molly, Gracie, and Daisy decide to escape the camp and walk back home to Jigalong.
It's quite difficult in finding this movie. Saya sudah coba bertanya kebeberapa tempat penjual dvd, dan rental film, but I didnt find it. So, where did I get this movie? Thanks for om google. I found a classic movie seller in Jogja, I phoned him and I ordered immediately. Actually, it's not the original one, but it's copy original. So, the price is really really cheaper than the original. It's about IDR 20.000.
